Insignia NS-58F301NA22 review
Design
Design-wise, this TV boasts a sleek and modern look that will effortlessly blend into any living space. Its slim bezels and slim profile contribute to an immersive viewing experience, while also giving it an elegant and contemporary aesthetic. The 48.9 x 28.6 x 3.3-inch Insignia F30 looks like what it is: an inexpensive TV. And unlike many newer (and more expensive) TVs, it still has a rather thick half-inch bezel around the edge.
Ports
In terms of connectivity, this TV comes with multiple HDMI ports, allowing you to connect various devices such as gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, or soundbars. It also supports Wi-Fi for wireless streaming, eliminating the need for messy cables. The HDMI inputs are located on the left side, while the optical digital audio, RCA analog audio, antenna and composite video inputs are on the back of the TV. None are particularly easy to access, but that will only be an issue if you have to change what’s connected to the TV frequently.

Display
The picture quality of the F30 Series is impressive, thanks to its LED panel and 4K Ultra HD resolution. The colors are vibrant, and the images are sharp, providing a detailed and lifelike viewing experience. Whether you’re watching your favorite TV shows or exploring the latest blockbuster movies, the visuals are sure to captivate you.
This TV doesn’t have a local dimming feature; the entire backlight is always on at the same intensity, so there’s no distracting flicker or brightness changes as bright highlights move across the screen.
Using the default settings, the picture looked oversaturated and colors skewed toward red. While watching Blade Runner 2049 on 4K Blu-ray, the orange sky in the ruins of Las Vegas was too orange and overwhelmed the scenes. The F30 supports HDR10, but not HDR10+ or Dolby Vision. As a result, HDR performance was limited and contrast was poor; it lost details in the darkness while watching both Blade Runner 2049 and Avengers: Infinity War.
Color
The Insignia F30 has an alright color gamut. Coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is good, so most HDR content is displayed well. Coverage of the wider Rec. 2020 color space isn’t very good, though, so content mastered in that color space looks dull and more muted. It also has poor tone mapping in the Rec. 2020 color space, so saturated colors look off.
Fire TV
As a Fire TV Edition, this Insignia TV integrates seamlessly with Amazon’s Fire TV platform. This means you’ll have access to a wide range of streaming apps and services, including popular ones like Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and more. The user-friendly interface allows for easy navigation and quick access to your favorite content.
Audio
The audio performance of the F30 Series is decent, offering clear and balanced sound. However, if you are an audiophile or prefer a more immersive audio experience, you may want to consider investing in a separate soundbar or speaker system. The Insignia F30 produces pretty impressive audio for a TV, regardless of price. Though it only supports Dolby Audio, not Dolby Atmos, it delivered a much wider sound than a typical TV with 2-channel sound.
Gaming
The Insignia F30 has outstanding low input lag, resulting in a responsive gaming experience, and there’s almost no variation in input lag with different resolutions. It’s limited to a 60Hz fixed refresh rate, with no variable refresh rate support. It doesn’t switch to game mode automatically, so for the lowest input lag, you’ll need to manually switch to the ‘Game’ Picture Mode.
Setup
To get the Fire TV setup, you start by choosing Basic or Full. Basic doesn’t require an Amazon account, but you only get live TV through an antenna and five apps. Full setup requires you login to Amazon, but then you get all the features you’ll want from the smart OS — including Alexa.
You activate Alexa by pressing the microphone button on the remote (there’s no hands-free activation on this TV). Alexa can help you start apps, go to specific videos or change inputs — it did all those things much more quickly than navigating the menus. Thanks to its smart home integration, it also switched on my holiday lights when asked.
Remote
The remote is identical to the one included with the Insignia F50 QLED. It’s a pretty basic remote, but it has built-in voice control, which you can use to change inputs, launch apps, or search for content in specific apps, but you can’t use it to adjust settings like the backlight.

Real good
So far so good. It came with a scratch in the screen from the workers being all rough when putting it in my car but you can barley see it so no problem. But I like this tv it comes with fire stick already programmed in the tv and I connected it with my prime so I got all the same apps from my fire stick. Def will but again but a smaller one for the bedroom. 58” is perfect for my living room is big & the quality is great, the 4k looks good

Better
The Insignia F50 QLED is much better than the Insignia F30 Series 2022. The F50 looks much better in both bright and dark rooms. The F50 gets significantly brighter, so it can handle more glare, and it has a much higher contrast ratio, so blacks look deeper. The F50 also has a much wider color gamut, so HDR content looks more vivid and lifelike. Finally, the F50 is better for gaming thanks to its much faster response time, with less blur behind fast-moving objects.
End notes
Overall, the Insignia 58-inch F30 Series LED Fire TV offers a great combination of affordability, size, and functionality. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of higher-end models, it is a reliable choice for those seeking a solid smart TV experience with a large display.
