The Amazon Fire TV 50 4-Series 4K UHD Smart TV offers a truly immersive viewing experience with cutting-edge features and excellent picture quality. It’s not very good for watching sports or playing video games, though, as it has a slow response time, and HDR adds very little, as it’s not bright enough for small highlights to stand out, and it can’t display a wide color gamut. Here’s a comprehensive review of this impressive television – Amazon Fire TV 50 4-Series 4K UHD Smart TV – specs, dimensions & review.

Design and Build Quality
The Fire TV 50 4-Series has a svelte and contemporary appearance, with thin bezels and a profile that maximizes the display space. The construction is strong, giving it a sturdy, long-lasting feel. Simple black plastic makes up the casing, which has a 10.9mm bezel.
If you’re putting the TV on a TV bench rather than mounting it on the wall, all it takes to secure them to the base of the TV is four screws. Your bench must be at least that length because the feet are spaced 980mm apart.
Ports
It’s encouraging to see four HDMI inputs, especially because they share the same specifications as the Omni QLED: three HDMI 2.0 and one HDMI 2.1 eARC. On the 4-Series panel’s back, you’ll discover the following information:
- 3x HDMI 2.0 (4K @ 60Hz)
- 1x HDMI 2.1 (4K @ 60Hz) with ARC/eARC
- 1x USB 2.0
- RF connection (cable/antenna)
- Ethernet (LAN) input
- Digital audio output (optical)
- 3.5mm headphone jack
Display
With its 4K Ultra HD resolution, the Fire TV 50 4-Series delivers stunningly sharp and detailed visuals. The colors are vibrant and accurate, thanks to the HDR10+ support, which enhances contrast and color accuracy. The display offers wide viewing angles, ensuring that everyone in the room enjoys a great picture.
Peak brightness of the Amazon Fire TV is just passably good in SDR. It’s fantastic that the brightness doesn’t change much depending on the content. The little dimming of very small scenes is barely perceptible.
There is no blooming around bright objects in otherwise gloomy scenes on this TV because it doesn’t have a local dimming option. Dark scenes have increased blacks when bright highlights are on the screen because the full backlight is always on at the same intensity.
Smart Features and Interface
As part of the Amazon Fire TV ecosystem, this smart TV provides seamless integration with popular streaming services such as Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and more. The Fire TV interface is user-friendly, with a straightforward layout and intuitive navigation. Voice control is also supported, allowing you to search for content, adjust settings, and control smart home devices using just your voice.
Performance and Connectivity
The Fire TV 50 4-Series is equipped with a quad-core processor, ensuring snappy performance for smooth multitasking and quick app launches. It provides a lag-free streaming experience, even when running demanding applications. The TV offers multiple connectivity options, including HDMI ports, USB ports, and built-in Wi-Fi, making it easy to connect external devices and enjoy a wide range of entertainment options.
Streaming Experience
The Fire TV 50 4-Series runs on the reliable Amazon Fire OS, providing a smooth and intuitive user experience. Navigating through various streaming apps and menus is effortless, thanks to the included remote control or voice commands through Alexa.
With access to popular streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, and more, you’ll never run out of entertainment options. The device also supports 4K Ultra HD and HDR content, ensuring that you can enjoy the highest quality video streaming available.
Refresh rate & Gaming
There is a lot of blur in quick situations on the Amazon Fire TV because to its subpar response time. Dark transitions move much more slowly, which causes black to smear behind moving dark objects. A TV that can go up to 120Hz is almost probably preferred by gamers who want to connect a 4K console. The 4K screen runs at 60Hz, which may be sufficient for some people.
However, the 4-Series is fine for more casual gamers thanks to Amazon’s Luna gaming service being integrated in, and you can pair the official Luna controller through Bluetooth. The TV’s game mode reduces input lag from over 100ms in a basic picture setting to a quick 9.8ms, making it well worth using for any games.
Audio
The TV’s audio quality is impressive, thanks to the built-in Dolby Atmos support. The sound is clear and immersive, providing an enhanced audio experience.
Remote
The Alexa Voice Remote that comes with the Fire TV 4-Series can be used to operate it. This is different from what you’ll find on the top-tier Fire TV Stick because it has been enlarged to include more buttons, like all the numbers to aid in channel selection. However, it has an Alexa button, allowing you to search for material and have the TV return all of your viewing options for the titles you inquire about.
Amazon Fire TV 50 4-Series 4K UHD Smart TV customer review
Easy to use, all round just what I hoped for
For a low tech user like me, this is exactly what I needed. Easy to use, color and picture quality good, can’t complain about the sound, size perfect for my bedroom wall. Just wanted to be able to watch movies and series, and sometimes news. More than enough options with just a few streaming apps. It could do a lot more than I need but I’m happy keeping it simple and happy with the price I paid.
