HP Pavilion 15 laptop 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 review

Intel’s latest Tiger Lake Core i7 processors launched first on pricier Ultrabooks just like the Dell XPS 13 or Asus ZenBook 14 UX425E retailing for over $1000 USD each. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for these same processors to seem on less expensive laptop models to succeed in a wider range of buyers as shoppers with tight budgets can experience an equivalent benefits of Intel’s newest processor design. HP Pavilion 15 Laptop 11th Gen Intel Core I7-1165G7 Review

The 15.6-inch HP 15-dy200 with the Core i7-1165G7 CPU is now on sale for $589 USD after applying the coupon code ‘SMBHOL10’. Users must configure with 512 GB of PCIe NVMe storage, optional backlit keyboard, and Wi-Fi 6.

The 2020 HP 15 utilizes an equivalent chassis design because the 2018 model which we reviewed here. We were impressed by the metal chassis and overall system performance for such a cheap laptop, but a budget keyboard, poor fan controls, and lack of Thunderbolt are otherwise indicative of a budget laptop model. For under $600, however, the processor and integrated graphics will definitely be tough to beat. For something classier, we recommend watching the higher-end and slightly costlier HP Envy series instead.

HP Pavilion 13/14/15 price and release date

The HP Pavilion 13 are going to be available in October starting at $679. The Pavilion 14 will reach round the same time for $579. and eventually , the Pavilion 15 also will arrive in October starting at $599.

HP Pavilion 13/14/15 specs and features

My favorite thing about these new Pavilion laptops is that the wide selection of color options. The laptops have simple, sleek designs but the eight color options (Forest Teal, Serene Pink and Fog Blue being a couple of favorites) on the lids give customers the power to inject some personality into their gadgets.

Some of the chassis is formed out of post-consumer recycled and ocean-bound plastics, so good on HP for helping the environment.

The keyboard on the new Pavilion laptops spans from one edge to subsequent so even those with large hands can type comfortably. there’s also an optional fingerprint sensor (sorry, no IR camera) for fast and secure password-less login.

Powering these machines is Intel’s new 11th Gen Core processors, which promises a 20% performance increase over the previous generation along side 2x the graphics power. On the Pavilion 15, you’ll choose AMD Ryzen CPUs (up to a Ryzen 7 4700U), which have already proven themselves against competing Intel chips.

We don’t know the battery life estimates for every model, only that HP rates them at up to eight hours and 45 minutes, which might be a disappointment albeit accurate. Let’s hope they will squeeze out a touch more juice once we run them through our own battery test.

The Pavilion 14 and Pavilion 15 are often equipped with 14-inch and 15-inch, HD (1366 x 768-pixel) or Full HD (1080p) displays, respectively. We recommend staying distant from the HD panel. The 13-inch Pavilion 13 is out there with a 1080p or 4K display.

Other unique features include a built-in Alexa assistant, a wide-angle HD webcam and fast charge for a 50% recharge in just half-hour.
